This ‘river of warthogs’ is the only source of water for wildlife in the region during the dry season. In places, the vegetation is quite dense, including elephant grass, acacia woodlands and. The Park is well known for its elephant families, which can often be seen congregating by the river. You may also see giraffe, bushbuck and hartebeest. These animals are closely followed by a range of predators, including lions, Cheetah and leopards. Serengeti National Park is undoubtedly the best-known wildlife sanctuary in the world, unequalled for its natural beauty and scientific value, it has the greatest concentration of plains game in Africa. It is the migration for which Serengeti is perhaps most famous. Over a million wildebeest and about 200,000 zebras flow south from the northern hills to the southern plains for the short rains every October and November, and then swirl west and north after the long rains in April, May and June. So strong is the ancient instinct to move that no drought, gorge or crocodile infested river can hold them back. Serengeti is truly home of the legendary Wildebeest Migration. The Serengeti National Park is where safari-goers come to truly experience an African safari. Late afternoon drive to your accommodation for dinner and overnight at Serengeti Heritage Camp.

After breakfast, drive to Ngorongoro Conservation Area with game viewing drive en-route in the Serengeti National Park. A packed lunch will be served at a picnic site. The Serengeti National Park is where safari-goers come to truly experience an African safari. The park is featured on many National Geographic shows, the park is rich with wildlife, endless plains and sunrises and sunsets that make the heart go wild. The park is known for its huge wildlife populations. White-bearded wildebeest, zebras and gazelle migrate annually during the great migration from the plains of the Serengeti in Tanzania to the grasslands of the Maasai Mara in Kenya in search of fresh grass. It is also the home of the big cats, lions, cheetahs and Leopards. You will arrive at your accommodation late afternoon for dinner and overnight at Rhino Lodge.

The jewel in Ngorongoro's crown is a deep, volcanic crater, the largest unflooded and unbroken caldera in the world and is a UNESCO world heritage site and one of the 8th wonders of the world. The lake covers a large area of the park, flooding and drying with the seasons and is home to thousands of flamingos during the rains. The name Manyara comes from the Maasai word ‘Manyara’, a popular plant which is used to build the protective enclosure around a family homestead (boma). On your exploration of the park, you may see giraffe, zebra, wildebeest, buffalo, elephant and if you are lucky; lions lounging in the trees.
