Tour Plan

You will be picked up at the aiport and driven by private transfer to Arusha, to your booked hotel. Your guide will come and give you an introduction to the whole safari. At noon you will be picked up and driven to the unique cultural centre, 'Cultural Heritage Gallery' on the outskirts of Arusha. The variety of sculptures, masks, furniture, drawings and photos from all parts of Africa on display here is extremely impressive and worth visiting. Return to the lodge for welcome dinner and overnight.

In the early morning we drive to Tarangire. With a game viewing area roughly ten times the size of the nearby Manyara National Park and an exceptionally high concentration of wild animal from July to October, this seasonal Tanzania safari park is a little gem on the northern safari route. Elephants are the main attraction with up to 3,000 animals living in the park during peak months. In the high season there are also many wildebeest and zebras as well as giraffes, buffalo, Thompson's gazelles, warthogs, larger and smaller kudu, leopard and cheetah. Tarangire is also one of the best bird watching destinations in Tanzania. Afternoon return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

On this day we will drive to Lake Manyara National Park and enjoy a full day game drive. Lake Manyara National Park is one of the smaller national parks in Tanzania, but it still offers beautiful landscapes and is home to an interesting number of wildlife. The lake itself is an alkaline lake and reaches a maximum depth of 3.7 m. This park is a real highlight for bird lovers, as over 400 species of birds live here. Other residents of the park include elephants, buffalo, hippos, baboons, waterbuck, impalas, giraffes, zebras, and wildebeests. The park has large numbers of leopards, but sightings are rare due to the thick vegetation. With a bit of luck you can catch a glimpse of the famous "tree lions" that climb trees. Late afternoon return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Today we dedicate ourselves to the Ngorongoro Crater, which offers a breathtakingly beautiful backdrop and is the best place in East Africa to see the 'Big Five' (elephant, rhinoceros, buffalo, lion and leopard). Any safari in northern Tanzania should ideally include a visit to the Ngorongoro Crater. It is one of the most beautiful nature safari locations in the world and an extraordinary place to meet people from the Massai tribe. The Ngorongoro Crater and the surrounding highlands together form one of the most beautiful regions in Africa. Volcanic craters make a great backdrop to some of the most fertile and richest pasture land in Africa. The most famous crater of this type is without question Ngorongoro, the largest intact volcanic caldera in the world and is home to the highest density of large game in Africa. Ngorongoro is rightly one of the most famous safari destinations on the continent. In the afternoon we drive to the Serengeti National Park and spend the night there.

Another day in the Serengeti National Park awaits you today. The 'endless plains' of the Serengeti are home to an extraordinarily large number of wildlife in north eastern Tanzania - Tanzania's border turns it into Kenya's famous Masai Mara. Predators viewing here is excellent with around 4,000 lions and large numbers of cheetahs, leopards and hyenas. Other animals frequently found in the park are topi, eland, hartebeest, buffalo, elephant, caracal, serval, bat-eared fox, hyrax, wildebeest, rabbit, warthog, aardvark, giraffe, jackal, mongoose, crocodile, monitor lizard, aardwolf, many types of primates, including baboons and colobus monkeys and over 500 species of birds. In the afternoon return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Today we spend most of the time at the 'Hippo Pool' and watch the animals as they cool off at the waterhole. These include the crocodiles and the colossal hippos. With a bit of luck we will see a large pride of lions as well as wildebeest and zebras migrate. We will drive on the wide plains to the Kopjes (island mountains). These are known as volcanic rock cultures that provide natural protection for many animals. From above you can enjoy a wide view over the vast expanses of the Serengeti National Park. The landscape of the park offers you the best opportunities for game viewing. In the late afternoon return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Today we drive back to Arusha and have the opportunity to visit the Olduvai Gorge along the way. Here the two archaeologists Lois and Mary Leaky researched 'the cradle of mankind' in the 1950s and found the oldest human remains, one of the most important discoveries in the world. On the way we have the option to visit a Maasai village to experience life of these wonderful people living in harmony with nature in Tanzania.

Free time until departure. Farewell and transfer to the airport. We also offer tours to the highest point in Africa (Kilimanjaro) as well as various trekking tours and beach holidays. Just let us know if we should help you organize further trips in Tanzania
