Joyful Safaris and Tours – A Journey of Courage, Passion & Purpose
I am Naite Saruni, a proud Maasai woman from the heart of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, raised in a nomadic and pastoralist tradition where women’s voices were rarely heard. My life’s path was expected to follow the tradition of an arranged marriage to someone older — a choice made for me, not by me.
But I dreamed of more. I chose courage over silence, breaking away from the system that limited my voice and my future. I left my family and traveled to Arusha, where I pursued my education. My journey took me from being a primary school teacher to working as an accountant, and later as a tour consultant for various safari companies. Each role taught me skills and resilience, paving the way for my true calling — creating my own company.
That dream became Joyful Safaris and Tours — a 100% locally owned, female-led safari company dedicated to creating journeys filled with connection, discovery, and joy.
We are more than just a travel company — we are storytellers of Africa’s beauty, its vast wild landscapes, its iconic wildlife, and the rich cultures that make Tanzania so unique.
